Laughing swing is an interaction between a person and a swing. It looks like a simple, regular swing. When you sit on it, it chuckles. As you swing, it laughs, and the higher you go, the harder it laughs. At the peak swinging it is laughing wildly.

Light Tracer invites the participant to write, draw and trace images in real physical space using a series of light sources. These light sources are subsequently tracked by a camera, and displayed over the participant’s own image onscreen.

Upcoming Stuff

Obviously there’s football on, but I thought these worth a mention:

Big Sexy Festi Party Festival at Finsbury Park, Sat 10 June, London N4, Noon till 10pm, £1 donation
Main Stage: Tarantism, Cosmics, Ljpiii, Tone Deaf, Joan Coffey, + More Tbc
Big Sexy: Chris Liberator, The House Kings, Nelson Dilation, Dj Spindrift + More
Reknaw: P. A. I. N., Uk Subs, Inner, Terrestrials, Sbwl, Dirty Love
…etc… (might be something to do after the match if the weather holds out?)

And then later on on Saturday there’s Ground Zero at Mass with all 3 Liberators and the Malfaiteurs among others.

Coming up on 8th July, there’s The Rise Festival, also at Finsbury Park. This is the festival formerly known as Respect. I’ve gone to about the last 4-5 of these and it’s always good. Headliners this year are The Buzzcocks and The Wailers. And it’s free.

Tickets have also just gone on sale for this years Somerset House series. I just grabbed a couple for Fat Freddies Drop which is (also) on 08 July.

Silly but do you like to put stuff on your cat?

The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity, by Carlo M. Cipolla. An interesting essay.

“It is not difficult to understand how social, political and institutional power enhances the damaging potential of a stupid person. But one still has to explain and understand what essentially it is that makes a stupid person dangerous to other people – in other words what constitutes the power of stupidity.”

Hong Kong Bus Uncle. Youtube video. A older bloke goes (verbally) ballistic when asked to talk quieter by a younger guy. Someone else films it on their mobile. A good primer on Cantonese cursing. There’s already several remixes and t-shirts available.
