Many procrastinators do not realize that they are perfectionists, for the simple reason that they have never done anything perfectly, or even nearly so. They have never been told that something they did was perfect. They have never themselves felt that anything they did was perfect.

Design Process

May 8th, 2009

A joke from photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com:

  • Receive requirement
  • Sketch out rough
  • Get approval
  • Create artwork
  • Review
  • Create finished artwork
  • Preflight and proof
  • Print
  • Notice reflection is upside-down*

*optional

See the image here.

I thought  it’d be good to remember the process and leave a note on purplemass (forget the last item!).

Our first free party this year.

The similarities are uncanny then again it was the 1930s & 40s and maybe there weren’t that many graphics artists around!

Heptagrama: the web, but verified

February 17th, 2009

Heptagrama is a serious effort to summarize the Internet and make the world a better place.

Seems to have been written by two guys one guy about the web/the world and anything in between. I really enjoyed the Mind Body section about men and women.

File hosting/sharing tool

January 25th, 2009

There are lots of sites out there that let you share your files on the internet but filedropper.com seem to have got it right by making file sharing very simple.

Go to there site, click on ‘Upload’, and select your file. Once the file been uploaded , you are presented with a simple link (URL) which you can send out. You also get the HTML code to embed on your blog or Facebook page.

Bravo!

TV/Video on the net

January 23rd, 2009

Lots and lots of websites let you watch user generated movies (YouTube, GoogleVideo, Vimeo) and now there are sites that specialise in providing TV series and documentaries. Hulu is one of the bigger ones with vision.tv and blip.tv right around the corner.

New Design for purplemass.com

January 16th, 2009

The other night I spent a bit of time changing the Simpla theme (which is superb in its own right) to something a little more colourful and well purplemass like!

I’m not 100% sure about it. Would appreciate your comments.

Think I’ll spend some time this weekend getting the colours of text & headers right.
