{"id":20,"date":"2005-11-13T21:33:38","date_gmt":"2005-11-14T03:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maxalien.com\/purplemass\/?p=20"},"modified":"2005-11-13T21:33:38","modified_gmt":"2005-11-14T03:33:38","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/purplemass.com\/blog\/?p=20","title":{"rendered":"Blackwater"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was talking to Kent last night about (among other things), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackwaterusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blackwater<\/a>, the security firm (or private militia if you prefer), that&#8217;s being providing &#8220;security services&#8221; in Iraq, and more recently in New Orleans, where, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenation.com\/doc\/20051010\/scahill\" target=\"_blank\">this article<\/a>, at least some of them were deputised and given the power to use lethal force. It would also seem that Blackwater and other similar firms are hiring top Military and Pentagon staff.
